EHGW – 2009 – East Hampton Group For Wildlife

In 2009, EHGW partnered with ECCO Farm to install a fence around their vegetable plots as an alternative to the farm’s plan for a deer cull on their property. In 2009, on the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, EHGW sponsored an Honor the Animals celebration in East Hampton town.

In 2009, EHGW vigorously oppose new town rule to allow turkey hunting, noting turkeys are the biggest consumer of ticks in Suffolk County. We convinced the town board to write the DEC objecting to the lack of consultation with East Hampton prior to announcing the rule.
