In 2014, the EHGW was the lead plaintiff in a lawsuit that resulted in a temporary restraining order (TRO) against East Hampton participating in the planned deer cull. Part of the reason we were granted the TRO was that the 2013 fly-over count, commissioned by the Town Board, found 877 deer, a huge drop from the baseline established by our survey in 2006. A few days after the TRO, the town and village withdrew from the planned cull.
